Peter E. Randall Publisher TestimonialsComments from Authors
"Even though I had written a book, I didn't consider myself an author. It was just words on paper, until I began working with Deidre, and Peter E. Randall Publisher. They understood the importance of my work to me, and helped me turn these words on paper into an award winning book, and me, into an author." “I came to Peter E. Randall Publisher after an unsuccessful experience with another publisher, and my experience with Randall has been very positive. Unlike other publishers, at Randall I had complete control over the book’s design, which was very important to me. Producing a book of duotone photographs requires great care, and Randall’s recommendation to do actual press proofs made all the difference. The designer was highly experienced with book design, and the printer understood and shared the importance of quality. Randall’s “complete package” approach gave me access to a publicist, and their in-house support for publicity has exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them.” "Peter Randall, my publisher, encouraged me from the beginning to continue with my work. Since this was my first attempt to write a book, I needed someone like Peter to show me the way. His background that included publishing over 400 works, many of them on local history, made me confident that he could steer me through this process that was so unfamiliar to me. The quality of the book, the layout and design work done by his designer Grace and the photograph on the dust jacket all contributed to the appeal of the book." "I am delighted with the appearance of the book. The cover is beautiful! It isn't very often among reprints that I have seen that the reprint looks better than the original. Thank you for all your assistance."
When I arrived at [Peter Randall's] office four years later with the completed manuscript, Peter immediately began the process of transforming it into a printed book. I worked with a copy editor and layout designer chosen as appropriate to my particular project. My colleague and I suggested a format we liked for the page layout and made other design decisions. We chose the paper and cloth binding and worked with an in-house designer on the book jacket. The galleys were sent out to be indexed. Peter's capable and patient staff made last minute changes. It is exciting to see an idea become a reality with the help of a firm dedicated to quality and service. Pam Fox, author, Farm Town to Suburb, The History and Architecture of Weston MA 1830-1980 The New London History Committee was very pleased with every aspect of Peter E. Randall Publisher's services; their up-to-date knowledge, availability, expertise, good taste and fair price."
