Last Flight

a Suspense-filled Novel by Tom Chase

Last Flight Captain Rob Robertson, on his final flight before mandatory retirement at age sixty, faces the gravest decision of his long flying career--should he ditch his aircraft in the angry sea or attempt a seat-of-the-pants landing at a storm-racked, abandoned airfield on the rugged coast of Labrador? Here is an authentic look inside the cockpit, from a retired pilot who understands the intricacies of piloting a jet airliner. The rekindling of a long dormant love, between Rob and flight attendant Charis, provides another excellent plot line as engaging as a trip to Paris.

"Last Flight is an exciting post-9/11 thriller in the skies, woven with a very tender love story that is impossible to put down. Set in New Hampshire, Paris, and Newfoundland, its highly credible plot benefits from the aeronautical expertise of the author, and the closing chapters are white-knuckle page-turners. I would love to have one percent of the movie rights." -- John Nolan, editor, The Rochester Times

"Tom Chase gently coaxes us into the captain's seat and sets the stage for a breath-holding conflict between today's awesome technological power and the fallible human mind. Last Flight graphically illuminates the struggle shaping today's world." --Martha Barron Barrett, author of the novels Maggie's Way, God's Children, and the nonfiction Invisible Lives.

"Last Flight weaves fascinating information about a pilot's work with the tense reality of piloting in a post-9/11 age. Tom Chase presents us with Rob Robertson as the captain of his last flight, a man to admire for his integrity, skill, and humanity as he steers both his airplane and his life through challenging territory. Readers will need securely fastened seatbelts by the end!" --Lucinda Garthwaite, M.Ed., MFA, Humanities Department, CLL/UNH
